Tour de Zeleňák celebrated this year in Rumburk its 40th anniversary! Four decades of tradition for every cyclist from the north of our country. We tried hard in recent years to win this beautiful event but managed only solid second place in 2022 and 2023. This year we did it and we won the race! Petr Fiala was the one first on the line but the enormous effort of the whole team was instrumental during the whole race and helped in a big way. Our strategy was to race very aggressive, our riders Robert Hula and Tomáš Gdula performed many strong attacks. Other guys like our young new signing Kryštof Leffer and experienced Michal Dvořák with Vladimír Uličný did lot of pulling when opponents attacked and when we needed to have the race under control. Beautiful team work and i can see now at the end of the season our athletes can work together so well.
Unfortunately for me i had to undergo a small surgery on Friday and couldnt participate this time. Fortunately video live stream was on as the race organizers were equipped with helicopter and motobikes with cameras. I hoped to be part of the race and join live commentary team as i was invited during the week when i reported my potential absence from the race. I was excited but after the surgery i couldnt travel and had to settle for home recovery program and watching boys in the tv.
Season is coming to an end and i am so happy the victory streak is so special this year. Fifth race in a row is a win! Can you believe it? I still cant! 🙂
